Our dogs

Luna and River — dam and sire for Litter 3.

Luna

Dam, Weimaraner, four years old. Family dog first. Health highlights we will say in public: OFA hips Excellent, elbows Normal. Cardiac, CAER eyes, and a full OFA thyroid panel are still on the calendar — we don’t pretend those boxes are checked.

Our Weims are classic velcro dogs — they want to be with their people. They’re usually eager greeters and can get overexcited, so we work on calmer hello manners. They love kids, but they’re big, strong dogs and can accidentally knock a small child over when excited — supervision matters. With exercise and brain work, they settle well; Luna (mom, 4) stays calm most of the day even on lighter days; younger males usually need more outlets. Luna’s prey drive is milder than we’d prefer for a hard hunting prospect, but she has very high food drive, which makes training easier. In short: affectionate, smart, athletic shadows that thrive with structure and a family that wants a companion who also gets to work body and brain.

River

Sire, Weimaraner. River lives with family (our daughter and her fiancée). He’s part of Litter 3 planning. His OFA path is in progress — hips and elbows wait until after 24 months. We don’t have those grades yet, and we don’t claim CHIC for him.
